VP of Engineering

🚀 Hiring: VP of Engineering | Remote Canada / U.S.

This is not your typical “manage from a distance” leadership role.
We’re looking for a hands-on VP of Engineering who can step into a real, production-scale healthcare technology platform and lead the next chapter of platform modernization, reliability, security, and scale.
This is a player-coach leadership opportunity where you’ll guide a ~40-person engineering organization while staying close enough to the architecture, codebase, and delivery process to drive meaningful change.

The role focuses on modernizing an Azure-based .NET + React platform, improving engineering maturity, and building a stronger culture of accountability, quality, and operational excellence.

💰 Compensation:
🇺🇸 USD: $250K–$275K base, potentially up to $300K
🇨🇦 CAD: $300K–$375K base
🎯 Bonus: 10%
📍 Location: Remote across Canada or the U.S.

What you’ll be leading:
✅ Platform modernization across .NET, React, and Azure
✅ CI/CD maturity, release discipline, and engineering predictability
✅ Automated testing, quality culture, and fewer production regressions
✅ Observability, reliability, incident response, and MTTR improvement
✅ SOC 2 readiness, HIPAA compliance, secure SDLC, and auditability
✅ Leadership of distributed engineering teams across North America and offshore hubs

Ideal background:
🔹 10+ years in software engineering
🔹 5+ years in engineering leadership
🔹 Strong Azure cloud-native application experience
🔹 Experience modernizing legacy platforms while still shipping features
🔹 Healthcare, SaaS, regulated environments, HIPAA, SOC 2, or compliance-driven experience
🔹 Experience managing distributed/global teams is a strong plus
This role is perfect for an engineering leader who enjoys building structure, raising standards, making smart technical tradeoffs, and helping teams move from reactive execution to predictable, scalable delivery.
