Job Posting: Senior Cyber Security Specialists (2 Positions)
Location: Hybrid, Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Contract: 12-month contract with potential for extension

Our Client is seeking two (2) Senior Cyber Security Specialists to support in strengthening the client’s cyber security infrastructure as they move more programs and services online. The successful candidates will work to enhance the security posture of the organization while supporting the following key priorities:

Education Program & Sector Consultations: Expanding cybersecurity education and consultations for sectors, including higher education and health.

Key Responsibilities:
Technical Security Architecture Design
Provide security design expertise and advice to internal stakeholders on design principles and best practices.
Develop and implement security mechanisms to ensure the protection of information assets for client ministries, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and industry best practices.

Security Liaison and Advice
Maintain ongoing liaison with IT cybersecurity staff and senior program management to facilitate collaboration on all security planning, implementation, and management matters.
Assess security needs and assist asset custodians in identifying, designing, and implementing security architecture.

Project Management
Lead or contribute to large-scale, sensitive security architecture design projects, mitigating identified risks to an acceptable level.
Ensure compliance and integration with Enterprise Information Architecture and Cluster architectures.
Provide supervision and technical direction to teams, coordinate the development of design specifications, and prepare reports, estimates, and feasibility studies.
Communication and Relationship Management Skills
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and provide consultative and advisory support as a lead technical resource.
Build strong working relationships with stakeholders and provide expertise to ongoing projects and initiatives.

Must-Have Qualifications:
Extensive experience providing security design expertise and advice to internal stakeholders on design principles and best practices.
Proven experience in developing and implementing security mechanisms to ensure the protection of information assets and compliance with legal requirements and industry best practices.
Strong communication, consultative, and advisory skills, with the ability to serve as a lead technical resource and engage with stakeholders effectively.
Demonstrated experience in security architecture design, risk management, and project management.
In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, standards, and regulations.
