Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Lead Java Developer. This position involves leading the design, development, and maintenance of critical Java Spring Boot microservices, with a focus on Oracle SQL-driven business logic. The role offers hands-on leadership, technical guidance, and the opportunity to work on innovative AI integrations, all within a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of Java Spring Boot microservices deployed on Apache Tomcat
Write, optimize, and review complex Oracle SQL queries critical to business operations
Drive architecture decisions and lead technical design discussions for microservices
Ensure code quality through GitHub pull requests and adherence to best practices
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Mentor junior and intermediate developers, providing technical guidance and standards
Identify and resolve performance issues in SQL and service layers
Oversee automated testing, ensuring comprehensive test coverage and quality standards
Manage full software development lifecycle from design to deployment and post-release support
Design and implement AI integrations with GenAI/LLM APIs such as OpenAI and Azure OpenAI
Architect scalable AI-augmented features, including prompt management and token optimization
Integrate AI SDKs and RAG pipelines into existing services architecture
Establish content filtering and responsible AI practices for AI-powered features
Promote the adoption of AI-assisted development tools to enhance developer productivity
Desired Skill-Set

7+ years of hands-on Java development experience in production environments
Minimum 3+ years experience with Spring Boot microservices
Strong expertise in Oracle SQL, stored procedures, and query performance tuning
Proven experience as a Development Lead or Senior Developer, including code reviews and delivery planning
Proficiency with RESTful API design, microservice architecture patterns, and containerized deployments (preferred)
Hands-on experience with Git, GitHub, Maven/Gradle, JIRA, and Confluence
Familiarity with Unix/Linux command-line operations
Strong systems thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Excellent communication skills and ability to influence across teams
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment

Cloud platforms experience (AWS, Azure) and cloud-native deployment familiarity
Experience with AI orchestration or multi-model architectures
Banking/Financial industry experience
