Junior BI Analyst (6-Month Contract | Potential Extension or Permanent Hire)

One of CDW’s clients is seeking a Junior BI Analyst for a 6-month contract with the potential for extension or conversion to a permanent position. This is a hybrid/on-site opportunity in Burnaby, BC.

About the Role
The Junior BI Analyst will support the development and maintenance of business intelligence solutions, helping drive data-informed decision-making through data analysis, reporting, and visualization.

Key Responsibilities
Analyze, validate, and maintain data within SQL Server Data Warehouse environments.
Develop and support SQL queries, stored procedures, and views.
Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and SSRS reports.
Gather business requirements and translate them into reporting solutions.
Support data integration and ingestion activities across modern data platforms.
Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and reporting processes.
Provide ad hoc analysis, insights, and reporting support.
Document data definitions, business rules, and report logic.
Contribute to reporting automation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications
Strong SQL skills, preferably T-SQL.
Experience with SQL Server and Data Warehousing concepts.
Exposure to Power BI and SSRS.
Basic understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT, and Data Lakes.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
2+ years of relevant BI, data analytics, or reporting experience.

Nice-to-Have
Retail or supply chain industry experience.
Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
Exposure to Azure Data Services, Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Python, or Spark.
Understanding of business KPIs and performance reporting.
