Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Business Data Analyst/Payment Operations. This position involves supporting modernization initiatives within the Payments Operations team, focusing on automation, data analytics, and operational efficiency improvements across various payment platforms.
Pay rate range (CAD): $43.48/hr – $56.52/hr
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and optimize automated workflows for payment operations, reconciliation, exception management, and operational controls.
Develop and maintain automated test cases and regression testing frameworks for payment systems and operational platforms.
Support reconciliation activities across payment ecosystems, including real-time payments, wires, ACH/EFT, card payments, ISO messaging, and settlement processes.
Investigate payment exceptions, operational variances, and develop automated controls to detect anomalies proactively.
Analyze operational and payment data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and automation opportunities.
Support the implementation of AI and machine learning solutions for operational intelligence and predictive analytics.
Build dashboards, reports, and operational metrics to monitor performance and inform decision-making.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Payments Operations, Technology, Product, Risk, Compliance, QA, and vendors.
Translate business requirements into scalable automation and reconciliation solutions.
Communicate complex operational and technical concepts clearly to stakeholders.
Desired Skill-Set
3-7 years of experience in payments, banking operations, reconciliation, automation, or related fields.
Strong knowledge of payment ecosystems, operational workflows, settlement, and reconciliation processes.
Proficiency in process automation tools such as Python, SQL, Power Automate, Alteryx, UiPath, or similar platforms.
Experience with test automation, SIT, UAT, and regression testing procedures.
Strong data analytics, dashboard development, and reporting skills.
Experience supporting AI-enabled automation initiatives.
Proven ability to partner with diverse stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Nice to Have
Experience working on large transformation programs.
Previous banking industry experience, especially in top-tier banking institutions.
