Backend Software Engineer

Job Title: Backend Software Engineer
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 3 Days Office, 2 Days Home)
Duration: Long-term Contract (Potential for Conversion)
Pay Rate: $65/hr – $75/hr CAD

Requirements
• 3+ years of software engineering experience with high-level programming languages; Python and Go are a plus.
• BS/MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems and relational or NoSQL databases.
• Experience building, debugging, and maintaining highly available, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Microsoft Azure.
• Nice to have: Experience using AI tools.

• Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code.
• Support projects from design through successful delivery.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive results.
• Participate in code reviews and share technical knowledge.
• Promote engineering best practices through knowledge sharing and technical discussions.
