• Duration: Contract initially until December 31, 2026, with a very likely extension

I’m currently looking for a strong Java + Apache Camel Integration Developer for a modernization program with a leading insurance organization.
This role is focused on building scalable, high-performance integration solutions using Java 21+, Spring Boot, Apache Camel, Kafka, Kubernetes/AKS, and modern observability tools.

Important Apache Camel requirement:
Candidates must have recent hands-on Apache Camel experience, ideally with versions 4.4.5 to 4.20.0.
Experience with versions earlier than Camel 4 will not be suitable for this role.

What you’ll be working on:
• Developing robust integration solutions using Apache Camel with Spring Boot
• Building Kafka-based messaging workflows using Camel
• Streaming large file contents efficiently across inbound and outbound systems
• Implementing payload transformations within Camel integration flows
• Working with Camel components, routing, and enterprise integration patterns
• Containerizing and deploying applications using Docker and Kubernetes / AKS
• Supporting CSI drivers, persistent volumes, PV/PVC, and cloud-native deployment practices
• Implementing observability using OpenTelemetry / OTEL or Dynatrace
• Working on metrics, tracing, logging, and auto-instrumentation
• Performance tuning Camel routes, payload handling, and large file streaming pipelines

Must-have experience:
• Strong Java 21+ and Spring Boot experience
• Deep hands-on Apache Camel expertise, preferably Camel 4.x
• Kafka integration using Camel
• Large file streaming experience, both inbound and outbound
• Payload transformation experience within Camel flows
• Kubernetes / AKS experience, including CSI drivers and persistent storage
• OpenTelemetry, OTEL, Dynatrace, metrics, tracing, or logging experience
• Strong performance tuning experience across Camel routes and integration pipelines
