Database Administrator

We have a one-year contract opportunity for a Database Administrator specializing in Oracle and SQL Server in Ottawa. This is a hybrid position requiring 12 days on-site per month.

Key details include:
– The Consultant will be on-call on a rotational basis (every 5-6 weeks) and may need to work during non-standard business hours, including weekends or evenings.
– Candidates must have resided in Canada for a minimum of 5 years to be eligible for Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities:
– Install, configure, and maintain all supported database software (Oracle Database & MS SQL Server) on-premises and in Azure cloud-based High Availability environments.

Qualifications:
– 5+ years of experience as a DBA or in a similar role.
– Recent experience with:
– MS Azure SQL & Azure SQL Managed Instance (MI) database
– Oracle Exadata database deployed in Azure cloud environments
– Oracle 19c & SQL Server 2019 or higher
– Cloud SQL PaaS Services, specifically Azure
– Oracle Cloud, specifically Oracle Exadata Database Service
– PostgreSQL on Azure
– Oracle Exadata, Data Guard, RAC
– RMAN with backup/restore & point-in-time recovery
– Data Pump tool for database/data migration
– Oracle Advanced Security TDE
– Oracle Autonomous Database, Commvault, & Dynatrace

Relevant designations/certifications (OaCP, Azure, etc.) are preferred, including Microsoft Certified: Azure DBA Associate, MS Certified: Azure Admin Associate, or Oracle cloud certifications.
