Job Overview
– Lead and administer the organization, coordination and execution of assigned project(s) within multidiscipline project portfolios.
– Lead matrix project execution teams and coordinate project documentation while ensuring Project Management and Contract Management governance is followed.
– Undertake the organizing, coordinating and controlling of all stages of project management for assigned projects from initiation to closeout.
– Utilize approved Project Management processes for phase-gating, integration, scope, schedule, cost, change control, estimating, communications, reporting, and risk.
– Perform project management activities throughout the lifecycle of assigned projects, ensuring objectives are delivered within safety, quality, budget and schedule targets.
– Provide input into project background information, scope reviews, and assist in preparing Business Case Submissions for project approval.
– Prepare and coordinate information pertinent to assigned projects and alternatives for planning.
– Review project charters, initiate scopes of work (WBS), estimates, schedules, risk plans, and contract performance specifications.
– Develop structures for estimating and controlling project cost and schedule, and gather stakeholder input for execution plans.
– Arrange approvals, licenses, permits, labour resources, and coordinate clarification of design and specification requirements.
– Maintain liaison with field construction and operations, provide reports, monitor cost and schedule, manage changes, and develop mitigation plans.
– Resolve issues to ensure project deliverables are achieved and changes to scope, schedule, and cost are managed appropriately.
Qualifications
– Requires knowledge of project management principles, including Identification, Initiation, Definition, Execution, and Closeout.
– Requires knowledge of economics and business principles for cost estimates and forecasts, typically acquired through a four-year degree or equivalent education.
– Requires experience developing project requirements, preparing cost estimates, participating in RFP and contract processes, and managing execution and closeout phases.
– Requires familiarity with heavy industry equipment and processes, cost accounting knowledge, commercial contracting methods, construction methods, quality assurance, and health and safety.
– Requires strong organizational skills, teamwork abilities, excellent communication skills, and experience managing complex projects.
