🚨 Hiring: Senior Technical Engineer – Nuclear Engineering (Hybrid | Pickering, ON)
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Technical Engineer for a long-term contract opportunity supporting major nuclear engineering and operational initiatives within a highly regulated environment.
📍 Location: Pickering, ON (Hybrid – 2 days remote)
📅 Duration: 24 Months
⏰ Hours: 35 hours/week
🔍 What We’re Looking For:
We are looking for candidates with strong experience in nuclear design engineering, particularly those with ECC (Emergency Core Cooling) systems knowledge. Preference will be given to candidates with previous utility or nuclear vendor project design experience.
Key Responsibilities:
✔ Provide technical evaluations, engineering analysis, and recommendations related to nuclear facility operations, commissioning, maintenance, and system performance
✔ Support engineering assessments, troubleshooting, equipment reliability, and process/system improvements
✔ Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, procedures, and supporting documentation
✔ Review technical proposals, perform investigations, and recommend corrective actions or design enhancements
✔ Support procurement activities, installation support, testing, and operational readiness
✔ Participate in research, reliability improvement initiatives, and technical studies
✔ Assist with development of engineering procedures, operational documentation, and training materials
✔ Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering, operations, maintenance, and project teams
Required Qualifications:
✅ Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
✅ 6–8 years of experience within nuclear engineering, nuclear operations, commissioning, maintenance, or design environments
✅ Strong understanding of nuclear facility systems, engineering principles, and regulatory environments
✅ Experience with technical documentation, calculations, procedures, and engineering evaluations
✅ Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Experience:
⭐ ECC / Emergency Core Cooling systems knowledge
⭐ Previous utility or nuclear vendor design project experience
⭐ Experience supporting nuclear generating stations or major nuclear refurbishment projects
