POSITION SUMMARY
Senior Technical Analyst provides advanced level of IT technical support to BORN agents and staff in using the BORN Information System (BIS), projects, administers systems and databases; evaluates new hardware and software technology; coordinates small projects; and provides training.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES (This is not an exhaustive list)
Responsibilities include:
Act as a direct and indirect technical support resource for all BORN system users and BORN Agents province wide. This includes all front end users (e.g. participating hospital sites, Midwifery Practice Groups, Family Health Teams), BORN Agents and all BORN staff.Provide technical support for BORN systems deployment, administration, configuration, upgrades, performance monitoring, troubleshooting and custom software/hardware configurations. Where appropriate, work in partnership with BORN’s development partners and system vendors to ensure optimal performance of the system.Collaborate with and be an escalation point to other functions within the BORN Technical Team (e.g. participate in project activities, troubleshoot application problems with BSA, liaise with the Technical Team Lead).Monitor and log support incidents. Where appropriate, prepare and participate in Change Management process.Develop customized solutions to support prescribed registry functions and improve BORN system user productivity.Stay current with emerging technologies. Evaluate new hardware and software technology that may be of interest to BORN and conduct comprehensive evaluations of this technology to determine its suitability within our environment. Prepare a cost/benefit analysis if required.Identify opportunities and make recommendations to BORN management as to employing different methodologies, hardware, or software that will result in greater efficiency, increased productivity and security. Prepare detailed proposals to adopt and integrate new technology.Where appropriate, assume project coordination responsibility for projects related to the assigned portfolioCreate and maintain documentation in BORN approved standard. Develop detailed operating procedures and supporting documentation to facilitate the transfer of knowledge between various staff members.Perform work in accordance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all CHEO corporate/departmental policies and procedures related to Occupational Health and Safety.Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS
