About the job
Our Client:

A well-established financial services group is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support its securities broker-dealer operations. Backed by a national parent company, the group spans securities, mutual funds, and insurance. With major back-office transformations underway, this is a pivotal role contributing to the financial integrity and compliance of a regulated entity. The company offers a hybrid work model, strong internal support, and leadership that values independence and initiative.

The Role:

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Senior Financial Analyst will lead accounting, reporting, and budgeting functions for a key broker-dealer entity. This hands-on role involves full-cycle accounting, tax prep support, regulatory compliance, and financial analysis. Ideal for a self-directed accounting professional with broker-dealer experience, it offers both autonomy and collaboration in a fast-paced environment. Hybrid with 2 in-office days.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing full-cycle accounting: journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, and audit support for the securities broker-dealer entity.
Preparing monthly and annual regulatory reports to relevant authorities.
Supporting corporate tax filings and coordinating with external tax advisors.
Performing variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting in partnership with the finance team.
Preparing and maintaining documentation for audits and financial statement reviews.
Contributing to internal controls, policy documentation, and financial process enhancements.
Providing support for ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as required.

The Ideal Candidate will have:

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
Completion or near completion of a CPA designation.
5–7 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial analysis, ideally within the financial services or wealth management industry.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting best practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Multiview accounting software is an asset.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
