The Client:

Our client is a growing and well-established manufacturing company based in Pickering, Ontario. This is a six-month contract role with potential for permanency, offering an opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced, team-oriented organization in the manufacturing sector.

 

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Senior Accountant who enjoys hands-on work with the general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting, while contributing to continuous improvement projects and audit readiness.

 

What You’ll Accomplish in This Role

• Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of cash and general ledger accounts.

• Support month-end close activities, including journal entries, consolidations, and financial statement preparation.

• Conduct balance sheet analysis, calculate accruals, and ensure accurate reserve management.

• Assist with tax compliance, including property and sales/use tax filings.

• Maintain and enhance internal controls, documentation, and accounting policies.

• Handle light cost accounting functions, including variance analysis and commercial accruals (commissions, rebates, warranties).

• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and management to improve business processes.

• Participate in system and process improvement initiatives to streamline reporting and efficiency.

 

What You’ll Bring to the Table

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• 3–5 years of accounting experience, ideally combining public and corporate environments.

• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and full-cycle financial reporting.

• Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, formulas, data analysis) and ERP experience.

• Strong organizational and analytical abilities with a high level of attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across teams.

• Preferred: CPA designation, experience in manufacturing or private equity, and familiarity with JD Edwards.

Compensation & Details

💰 Rate: $35–40/hour

📍Location: Pickering, ON (Hybrid flexibility)
