Operational Technology (OT) Network Engineer
📍 Location: Canada (Remote/On-Site Hybrid – Flexible)

We are seeking two experienced OT Network Engineers to join our growing team. In this high-impact role, you will design, implement, and maintain secure and efficient operational technology (OT) networks across mission-critical environments. This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of industrial systems and modern networking, supporting advanced automation and control systems across our client portfolio.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and manage secure OT and IT network infrastructure across industrial environments.
Configure and administer Fortinet, Cisco, and Siemens security appliances to safeguard critical infrastructure.
Deploy and support OT-specific applications and services integrated with HMI and PLC control systems.
Manage and optimize traffic flow using key networking protocols: TCP/IP, SNMP, SMTP, CIP, ARP, BGP, DHCP, DNS.
Integrate HMI and PLC systems into OT networks for seamless operations and real-time monitoring.
Lead troubleshooting and performance tuning of OT networks to resolve issues and improve reliability.
Develop and maintain detailed documentation (network diagrams, SOPs, inventory, etc.).
Collaborate cross-functionally to drive cybersecurity initiatives, including network segmentation and air gaps.
Establish, maintain, and test business continuity and disaster recovery plans for OT environments.
✅ What You Bring
7+ years of experience as a Network Engineer, with hands-on focus in Operational Technology environments.
Deep familiarity with industrial protocols (e.g., Profinet, Modbus, BACNet, ControlNet).
Proven expertise in configuring:
Cisco Firepower, UCS Servers, and enterprise switches
Fortinet / FortiGate firewalls
Experience with Windows Server administration (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy).
Background working with Rockwell, Siemens, and HMI/PLC systems.
Demonstrated knowledge of cybersecurity best practices for OT environments.
Strong documentation, collaboration, and communication skills.
🎓 Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer/Control Systems Engineering (or equivalent experience)
Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CISSP or similar are highly desirable.
A proactive mindset, strong critical thinking, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
