We are looking for two enthusiastic tax professionals to join our international tax team!

As a Manager, International Taxation you will be primarily responsible for managing international tax matters in respect of the Canada Life group, including structuring international business transactions (acquisitions, financing and corporate reorganizations) and managing Canadian tax compliance matters for a large group of foreign affiliates.

What You Will Do

 

Manage international corporate structuring and transactions, including identifying and documenting Canadian tax matters, assisting with the development of detailed structuring plans, and effectively coordinating with tax teams and advisors in various jurisdictions where Canada Life operates.Communicating with senior management and advisors in respect of Canadian and international tax matters.Preparing/reviewing foreign affiliate related Canadian tax analysis (e.g., surplus and adjusted cost base computations).Managing Canadian tax compliance in respect of a group of foreign affiliates, including preparing/reviewing relevant returns.Managing CRA tax audits.

What You Will Bring

 

2-4 years of experience in taxation; exposure to international tax is advantageousDegree in accounting or taxation, or completion of a professional accounting designation (or equivalent)Completion of the CPA In-Depth Tax CourseStrong project management skills and ability to work effectively with various teamsAbility to manage conflicting demands and prioritiesHighly proficient communicator (both verbal & written)Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make practical recommendationsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

The base salary for this position is between $82,800- $ 137,900 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
