Mainframe Technical Lead – L1

We are currently looking to fill the position of Mainframe Technical Lead – L1 in Toronto, ON (REMOTE for now) on a Full-Time basis.

🔧 Technical Skills (Mandatory):
– COBOL – L3
– DB2 – z/OS Application Programming – L3
– JCL (Job Control Language) – L3
– VSAM
– CICS

➕ Nice to Have:
– IBM IDz
– z/OS Connect
– Automation experience

We seek a Technical Lead with significant experience in a mainframe setting, adept at operating within both offshore and onshore frameworks. The ideal candidate will have hands-on development experience, focusing on full-time development tasks rather than testing or support roles.

In the role of onshore lead, the candidate will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end project deliveries, engaging in discussions on project requirements and architecture, and providing support to the offshore team through daily connect calls.

📌 Responsibilities:
– Lead and manage a small team comprising analysts, developers, testers, or engineers.
– Supervise module delivery within project scope (Development, Maintenance, Testing).
– Serve as the functional/technical point of contact.
– Collaborate with the Product Owner (PO) / Scrum Master (SM) to prioritize and distribute work.
– Engage in architecture discussions and contribute to end-to-end project delivery.
– Offer technical guidance to the offshore team and participate in daily connect calls.
