IT Web Strategist – 1-Year Contract
Hybrid – Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
1-Year Term | Must hold valid Canadian Federal Security Clearance

About the Role
The Web Strategist will play a critical role in shaping and executing the evolution of our web presence. This includes developing and operationalizing web strategies, ensuring alignment with business goals, and leading initiatives focused on continuous improvement in site performance and user engagement.

Responsibilities
Strategic Planning
Develop and execute comprehensive web strategies aligned with business objectives
Build scalable personalization strategies and user flows tailored to target personas
Create and support content and technical SEO strategies in collaboration with business teams
Define and implement accessibility strategy covering both content and technology
Web Transformation
Lead web transformation initiatives including redesigns, platform migrations, and tech integrations
Ensure web strategies are integrated with broader marketing campaigns (e.g. paid, social, email)
Operational Guidance
Guide cross-functional teams on web best practices for content, design, and development
Use analytics and user behavior insights to inform improvements and increase engagement
Collaborate with UX designers to align experiences with audience needs
Stakeholder Collaboration
Align with Marketing, IT, and internal stakeholders to ensure strategic cohesion
Support annual and quarterly planning with key business and delivery partners

Specific Project/Platform Focus
Lead website transformation and strategy development (SEO, content, personalization)
Advise on CMS best practices, UX enhancements, and goal alignment (OKRs)
Contribute to strategic goal setting with leadership teams

Key Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have Skills
Strategic mindset with the ability to align web efforts with business objectives
Expertise in user-centric design and usability principles
Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Other Required Skills
Strong project management experience; comfortable with agile methodologies
Familiarity with CMS platforms, SEO best practices, and web analytics
Nice-to-Have Assets
Experience with Adobe AEM
Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG)
Bilingual (French/English)
