IT Engineer – Linux, Windows, AWS

Hello hashtag#Toronto! We have an urgent requirement for an IT Engineer – Linux, Windows, AWS. This is a 6-month contract with possible extension; Hybrid role with 2 days WFH and 3 days in the office located at Yonge & Queen.

The IT Engineer will work on a few projects and day-to-day operations. They will be integrated and embedded on a team. Other responsibilities include Server Upgrades Initiative: Linux Red Hat server upgrades (v7->v8) and Windows Server Upgrades (Win2012/Win2016 -> Win2019/Win2022). This project is on its way, with 75 Red Hat servers outstanding, and 325 Windows Servers to upgrade. AWS VMC to AWS EC2 native Migration Initiative: Lift & shift to AWS native IaaS. Moving ‘a few hundred’ virtual machines to AWS native. All server migration, no data-side/SQL work involved.

The ideal candidate must have strong experience with Linux upgrades, Microsoft upgrades, and AWS VMC to AWS EC2 migrations; Must have strong communication skills since the resource will be interfacing with various biz units; Strong knowledge and proficiency in Linux Red Hat Server (v7/v8) and Windows Server Operating Systems; Working knowledge and experience on automation and scripting tools (Ansible, PowerShell, Bash) and
AWS Cloud (VMC on AWS, EC2). Knowledge of Nutanix hyperconverged hardware is an asset for this role.
