HR Business Analyst – Learning & Development (Mandatory Training & Escalations)
Positions: 2 | Start Date: ASAP | Duration: Until June 1, 2026 | Extension/Conversion: Possible
Work Model: Primarily remote – occasional onsite meetings at 66 Wellington St W, Toronto (must reside in or near the GTA)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, core business hours | Travel: None
Overview
The HR Business Analyst will support the enterprise Learning & Development (L&D) group within a leading financial institution. This role is part of the Global Escalations team, which manages enterprise-wide mandatory training and learning escalations. The Analyst ensures employees’ learning issues and training records are resolved efficiently, while improving processes and reporting accuracy across the learning platform.
Key Responsibilities
Issue Management & Support
Respond to learner inquiries and escalations through a case management system (e.g., ServiceNow) within SLA timelines.
Troubleshoot course access and completion issues in the Learning Management System (LMS).
Track and resolve exceptions, removals, and follow-ups in compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
Reporting & Analytics
Monitor mandatory training completion status and overdue reports for all business groups.
Generate and analyze completion metrics, identify trends, and escalate gaps or systemic issues.
Prepare dashboards and daily/weekly reports using Excel (pivot tables, lookups, mail merges).
Process Improvement & Collaboration
Collaborate with peers to maintain and enhance troubleshooting guides and knowledge base content.
Recommend process improvements leveraging automation tools (e.g., Power Automate).
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to learner experience, reporting, and governance.
Candidate Profile
Education: Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience
Experience: 1–2 years in a training, HR, or data-reporting environment
Must-Have Skills
Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel – VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, conditional formatting; Word; Outlook; PowerPoint).
Experience with a Learning Management System (LMS) and online learning platforms.
Strong analytical and data-management skills; ability to identify trends and produce insights.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, balancing learner experience and compliance needs.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with Power Automate or similar workflow tools.
Knowledge of compliance or regulatory training requirements.
Familiarity with SharePoint or enterprise content-management systems.
