Job Type: Full-Time, Contract
Contract Duration: April 15, 2026 – June 23, 2026
Compensation: $19.50 – $20.00/hour

Position Overview
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Financial Clerk to support technical accounting operations within a fast-paced departmental environment with one of our reputable clients in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This role involves performing a variety of accounting, financial, and budgetary functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across financial systems and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation and control of annual budgets
Review and analyze financial and accounting data
Prepare financial and statistical reports
Maintain accurate records of revenues and expenditures
Perform account reconciliations and ensure proper balancing
Process journal entries, including opening and closing entries
Support the maintenance and improvement of accounting systems
Ensure all financial documentation is accurate and up-to-date
Qualifications & Requirements
Completion of Grade 12 (high school diploma)
Recognized accounting training or certification in a relevant specialty
Minimum 3 years of related accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a structured environment
Work Environment
Full-time, onsite role in Halifax
