Data Scientist

Our banking client is hiring a Data Scientist to join their team on a contract basis. This is a 1 year contract with the potential for an additional year extension, hybrid twice per week at their downtown location.

– Candidates must be located in the GTA, eligible to work in Canada, and have a strong background in LLM, AI/ML, and previous banking experience is a bonus.

– The compensation is up to $63/hr incorporated + HST.

Must-have requirements:
– 5–7 years of experience in data science, applied AI, or machine learning roles
– Strong expertise in prompt engineering, prompt tuning, and LLM evaluation techniques
– 5+ years of experience with Python for building data pipelines and integrating AI/ML services
– 5+ years of experience working with large-scale structured and unstructured data
– Strong understanding of model limitations, bias, and responsible AI practices

Nice to have skills:
– Ability to translate business requirements into effective AI-driven solutions+
– Previous Banking Experience
– Previous research experience in AI/ML
– Hands-on experience with hosted LLM platforms and APIs (e.g., Gemini or equivalent)
– Demonstrated experience delivering production-grade LLM or NLP-based solutions
