We’re looking for a Data Scientist to help build a foundational probabilistic risk model at the intersection of machine learning, insurance claims intelligence, and real-world decision-making.
📅 Contract: 6 months, with a strong likelihood of extension
💰 Rate: $40–$45/hour Incorporated
🚀 Start Date: ASAP

What You’ll Be Working On:
• Designing the modeling approach for a probabilistic claims risk model
• Identifying predictive signals across claims, fraud, injury, liability, litigation, recovery, and other outcome areas
• Building dynamic risk scores that evolve as new data becomes available
• Developing explainable model outputs that adjusters and business stakeholders can trust
• Building initial models using synthetic data and integrating real-world data from external partners
• Collaborating with product, engineering, and insurance specialists to embed models into claims workflows

Must-Have Qualifications:
✅ 2+ years of professional Data Science experience
✅ Strong academic background from a recognized university
✅ Previous experience within the insurance industry
✅ P&C or automobile insurance experience is strongly preferred
✅ Solid statistical and data modeling experience
✅ Comfortable working with complex, incomplete, and unstructured real-world datasets
✅ Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Technology Environment:
Python | AWS | SageMaker | Databricks
Experience with claims analytics, fraud detection, financial services, injury modeling, or insurance risk modeling would be a strong asset.
