Business Analyst
On-site, Toronto, Ontario, Canada (open to Canadian contractors)
An interview on-site/security background check will be conducted
Salary range:  $40 to $90 per hour

Our client is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the delivery of complex, enterprise-level systems within a government environment. The successful candidate will work closely with business and technical stakeholders in a mature agile setting to translate business needs into effective, user-centered solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Lead requirements discovery activities, stakeholder engagement, and facilitated workshops.
Perform systems analysis, functional design, and support testing and implementation activities.
Define and manage user stories, support sprint planning, backlog refinement, and agile delivery.
Conduct user research, develop personas, and create end-to-end journey maps to improve service delivery.
Translate business needs into functional specifications, user stories, and prototypes.
Collaborate with technical teams to triage incidents, resolve issues, and manage system impacts.
Prepare system documentation, user manuals, and implementation support materials.
Provide advice on system enhancements, change impacts, and training needs.

Required Experience & Skills
Strong experience in requirements gathering, systems analysis, and functional design.
Proven experience working with large, rules-based enterprise systems with multiple integrations.
Demonstrated success in agile delivery environments, including backlog management and user story development.
Experience conducting user research, persona development, and journey mapping.
Sound knowledge of SDLC methodologies, COTS platforms, and web-based applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience producing formal documentation.
Ability to lead and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable
Experience working in government or regulated environments.
Ability to analyze policy-driven or legislative requirements and assess system impacts.
