Senior Cloud Architect

Brampton, ON (4-5 days Onsite) – Non-Negotiable

Long-term contract opportunity

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Supporting all lines of business to assess their technical requirements, ensuring proposed solutions and architecture meet Rogers Standards and Patterns.

· Design scalable, secure, and highly available cloud systems and applications using cloud services.

· Design secure cloud environments, considering encryption, identity management, firewalls, and other security protocols.

· Working with the business to assess their functional & technical requirements for the purpose of creating a high-level architecture document.

· Create high-level architecture diagrams and detailed designs, considering networking, storage, computing, and security aspects.

· Creation of Cloud Architecture Patterns and driving it through the approval process.

· Responsible for designing standards for Core/Shared services in public Cloud.

· Ensure that the architecture complies with relevant regulations and industry standards.

· Provide troubleshooting expertise for cloud systems, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

· Define and enforce cloud architecture standards, best practices, and coding guidelines for cloud-based applications.

Skill Required/ Responsibilities/Technical Qualifications:

· Must have 7+ years of AWS Architecture and Engineering hands on experience.

· 7+ years prior experience in a senior technical role, demonstrating the technical design and practical implementation of complex infrastructure solutions in an enterprise environment

· 5+ years of AWS Architecture and Engineering hands on or related experience.

· Experience designing, building and supporting AWS Public Cloud Platforms (AWS or GCP would be an additional asset)

· Good Experience in building standard and Patterns in Public Cloud

· Knowledge of AWS (and Azure; GCP) Best practices and standards.

· Knowledge and understanding of the AWS (and Azure; GCP) Well-Architected Framework.

· FortiNet FortiGate Firewall experience in the cloud will be an asset.

· Network/Security/DNS experience in the cloud a highly desirable.

· Telecom sector experience is an asset.

· Excellent verbal, written and diagramming skills.

· Deep knowledge of AWS (and Azure; GCP) cloud technology and architectures.

· DevOps experience: Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline implementation using Terraform & Git

· Familiarity with Confluence & Jira.
