Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for an Automation Test Engineer – Online & Mobile Banking. The Automation Test Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of digital banking applications through a combination of automated and manual testing. In this fast-paced environment, the candidate will collaborate with developers and cross-functional teams to identify defects, enhance testing processes, and support seamless application delivery. Pay rate range (CAD): $45 – $52/hour

Responsibilities

Test banking applications across web and mobile platforms to ensure functionality, performance, and usability
Design, build, and execute automated test scripts (approx. 70% automation focus)
Perform manual testing (approx. 30%) to validate edge cases and user experience
Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to identify, report, and resolve defects
Ensure application quality and stability prior to production releases
Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and execution
Improve testing frameworks, processes, and overall quality engineering practices
Support continuous integration and delivery pipelines with automated test coverage
Desired Skill-Set

Hands-on experience with automation testing using Robot Framework
Strong programming skills in Python
Experience testing web and/or mobile applications
Strong understanding of software testing principles and methodologies
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
Nice to Have

Experience with Selenium or Playwright for web automation
Familiarity with cloud-based mobile testing tools such as Perfecto
Experience with test design tools like ConformIQ
Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Git and automated pipelines
Prior experience in banking or financial services environments
