Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for an AS400 Senior Application Developer to support core banking applications, including multiple regulatory initiatives and modernization efforts that require hands-on development support.

Responsibilities

Translate customer and product requirements into technical solutions for the AS400/I-series environment
Collaborate with senior developers and stakeholders to deliver reliable application enhancements
Identify defects and deficiencies and challenge the status quo to improve outcomes
Support delivery of regulatory and modernization initiatives through effective development practices
Apply independent problem-solving to address application and operational challenges
Contribute to documentation and ongoing maintenance of application components
Help improve operational delivery through continuous improvement mindset
Desired Skill-Set

Minimum 7 years of experience developing on AS400
Strong applied experience with one or more of the following: RPG/LE, COBOL/400, SQL, Query/400, QM Query, ASC Sequel, CLP/CLLE, MQ, Data Queue, DB2/400, TAATOOL, RDI, Arcad
Experience with Waterfall and Agile/Scrum approaches, including working knowledge of JIRA
Ability to solve problems independently and creatively
Experience with problem analysis, data mapping, use case modelling, and documentation
Commitment to delivering quality customer service and products
Ability to adapt in a changing environment, with initiative and leadership support
