Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for an Accountant who will be responsible for providing IFRS-focused technical accounting advisory and supporting high-quality external reporting for the US Retail segment, including engagement on bank-wide ECL matters, while partnering with multiple stakeholders and helping translate complex accounting topics into clear deliverables.
Pay rate range (CAD): $17.60/hr – $31.09/hr
Responsibilities
Act as the primary APA contact for matters relating to the US Retail segment
Provide technical accounting advisory services under IFRS to stakeholders
Research, interpret, and resolve complex accounting issues, including ECL and related topics
Prepare accounting memos, technical research summaries, and presentation materials for stakeholders
Support the preparation and review of external consolidated shareholder reporting (including MD&A, financial statements and notes, and supplemental financial information)
Assist with accounting disclosure updates and enhancements for new and emerging requirements
Stay current with new and emerging IFRS pronouncements and prepare periodic technical updates
Translate complex accounting concepts into practical guidance for business partners at different seniority levels
Maintain strong working relationships across internal partners and support alignment with external auditors/advisors
Desired Skill-Set
CPA, CA designation
5+ years of experience researching and resolving complex accounting issues under IFRS
Strong familiarity with external financial statements and related disclosures
Demonstrated stakeholder management experience (communicating clearly and professionally across teams)
Advanced MS Office skills, including Outlook and PowerPoint (and comfort working with financial documentation)
Detail-oriented approach with strong analytical judgment and a consistent focus on accuracy
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
