Lead Software Engineer / Software Development Manager – Capital Markets (Java / Microservices)
📍 Toronto (Hybrid – Downtown)
💰 Up to $150K Base + Bonus + Strong Benefits
We’re looking for a hands-on Technical Lead / Engineering Manager to join a fast-paced Capital Markets technology team supporting Institutional Equities & Derivatives systems.
This is a role for someone who still loves the code, thrives in complex distributed systems, and brings strong leadership energy to the table.
🔥 What You’ll Do
Lead a team of ~8 engineers (dev, QA, offshore)
Build and support Java/Spring Boot microservices
Own production troubleshooting and system reliability
Drive CI/CD, releases, and engineering best practices
Partner with Product on high-impact trading systems
⚙️ What We’re Looking For
Strong Java + Spring Boot experience
Proven microservices architecture experience
Angular or React exposure
Strong SQL + production debugging skills
Experience in Capital Markets / Trading systems (big plus)
Hands-on technical leader (not just management)
Strong communicator with real ownership mindset
