Senior Program Manager – Audit Remediation & Governance (12-Month Contract, Hybrid Toronto)
We are seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead a high-priority enterprise initiative focused on closing a critical internal audit finding related to patch management governance and standing up a new Patching Centre of Excellence (CoE) across Infrastructure & Engineering.
This is a high-visibility, regulatory-driven program within a large, complex enterprise environment involving extensive coordination across infrastructure teams, risk functions, and executive stakeholders.

Rate: Up to $80/hr
Priority: High (competing with external vendors)

Role Overview
The Senior Program Manager will own two critical workstreams:
Audit Remediation ClosureDrive remaining internal audit findings to full closure
Ensure all remediation actions are evidence-backed, defensible, and audit-ready
Coordinate management responses, sign-offs, and documentation for audit review
Patching Centre of Excellence (CoE) Stand-upEstablish governance framework, operating model, and escalation paths
Define reporting cadence, steering structure, and accountability model
Transition remediation activities into a sustainable governance function
This role requires someone who can operate confidently in audit, regulatory, and infrastructure governance environments and bring structure to a highly federated ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Own end-to-end delivery of audit remediation program plan
Coordinate across 30+ infrastructure and engineering teams
Engage with Internal Audit, ORM, RACA, CIO-level stakeholders
Track milestones, risks, dependencies, and remediation progress
Build and run executive steering committees and governance forums
Develop executive-level reporting and dashboards
Ensure all artifacts are properly created, reviewed, and stored
Lead structured transition into CoE operating model
Must-Have Requirements
8+ years of Project / Program Management experience
Strong background in financial services or large regulated environments
Proven experience with audit remediation or regulatory response programs
Experience with IT controls, infrastructure governance, or technology risk
Ability to build structured delivery plans from ambiguous requirements
Strong executive stakeholder management (VP, CIO, Audit, Risk teams)
Experience with JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint
PMP is an asset but not mandatory
Nice to Have
Experience standing up or transitioning a Centre of Excellence (CoE)
Background in patch management governance or infrastructure governance
Experience in large-scale enterprise transformation programs
Strong understanding of audit evidence requirements and control frameworks
