Financial Analyst – 6 Month Contract

We are currently hiring for a Financial Analyst opportunity with a confidential, established organization in the GTA. This is an initial 6-month contract with strong potential for extension.

This role is ideal for someone with strong financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, financial reporting, and advanced Excel experience. Exposure to Hyperion, SmartView, Essbase, Oracle, or Financial Reporting Studio would be highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support financial statement budgeting and annual financial planning activities.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting.
• Partner with budget managers and internal stakeholders to provide financial guidance and reporting support.
• Prepare financial reports, KPI summaries, dashboards, and ad hoc analysis for leadership review.
• Track and analyze operating expenses, capital expenses, and project-related financial activity.
• Support Hyperion, SmartView, Essbase, Oracle, and related planning/reporting systems.
• Assist with system testing, troubleshooting, reporting improvements, and process enhancements.
• Conduct cost-benefit analysis and provide recommendations to improve reporting and finance processes.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and annual planning deliverables as required.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, or financial reporting.
• Strong Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, formulas, and financial modeling.
• Experience with Hyperion, SmartView, Essbase, Oracle, or Financial Reporting Studio is highly preferred.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial statement reporting.
• CPA, CPA in progress, ACCA, CA, CMA, or similar designation is considered an asset.
• SQL, VBA, Power BI, or reporting automation experience would be an asset.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to meet deadlines.
