Salary: $113,146 to $128,413 per year | Hours: 37.5/week

Northern Allowance: $16,328/year (if hire chooses Iqaluit)

Bevertec CST is conducting the search for a Network Analyst on behalf of the Government of Nunavut’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Solutions Delivery, the Network Analyst is responsible for the installation, testing, administration, and support of data and voice telecommunications hardware, software, and protocols within the Government of Nunavut’s network environment.

This includes WAN, MAN, LAN, voice, wireless, switching, routing, and related protocols. The role works closely with internal IM/IT teams and third-party vendors to support the stable operation of the Government of Nunavut’s ICT infrastructure.

 

Key Responsibilities

Support the analysis, design, troubleshooting, implementation, and administration of LAN, MAN, WAN, switching, and routing infrastructure
Provide technical expertise for network-related projects
Analyze current systems and contribute to capital planning forecasts and project documentation
Install, configure, optimize, test, and administer the GN’s test, staging, and development network environment
Support implementation of the TCP/IP protocol suite, including at the packet level
Monitor and administer:
Syslog
RADIUS/TACACS
Cisco NetFlow
Network configuration management
Use tools such as Wireshark or NetScout Sniffer Global to troubleshoot issues
Follow Change Management procedures and accepted ITIL standards
Qualifications

This role typically requires:

A recognized college diploma in Computer Sciences, Information Technology, or a related Engineering Program
Plus:

4 years of recent, progressive experience in a large (750+ devices), complex enterprise WAN/MAN/LAN routing and switching environment
3 years of demonstrated experience in the design, installation, configuration, and support of routing/switching equipment and related protocols
Experience analyzing standard operating procedures, guidelines, policies, and business processes
Current certifications in technologies where GN has standardized on vendors such as:
Cisco and/or Mitel
Assets:

Project and contract administration experience in an enterprise IM/IT environment
Exposure to satellite networks
Additional Requirements

This is a Position of Trust and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check is required

Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages is an asset
Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut, and northern cross-cultural work environments is considered an asset
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
