Are you a seasoned Project Controls professional with a passion for precision, planning, and performance? We’re looking for Project & Control Officers to support large‑scale, complex projects through robust planning, monitoring, and control across the full project lifecycle.
🔍 About the Role
As a Project & Control Officer, you’ll be a key member of the project team, responsible for driving Front-End Planning (FEP), maintaining high‑quality cost and schedule controls, and ensuring projects meet their scope, budget, and schedule commitments.
You’ll collaborate closely with Project Managers, engineers, and contractors to provide accurate insights, forecasts, and recommendations that support informed decision‑making.
🧭 Key Responsibilities
Front-End Planning (FEP)
Lead and support Front-End Planning activities
Review and contribute to project scoping, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), and Basis of Estimates
Develop integrated, resource‑loaded project schedules in Primavera (P6) to field‑execution level
Establish project budgets, contingency, milestones, and support Business Case Summary development
Project Monitoring & Control
Maintain conceptual and execution phase schedules
Perform weekly schedule updates, cost analysis, and forecasting
Facilitate project metrics reporting and variance analysis
Identify risks and deviations from approved budgets or schedules and recommend corrective actions
Change Management
Ensure approved change control processes are followed
Prepare and support change documentation and approvals
Update project cost and schedules post‑approval
Conduct “what‑if” analysis to support project planning decisions
Cost & Schedule Quality
Maintain accurate, logically tied schedules with clear critical paths
Reconcile financial systems with project control systems
Ensure accurate cost forecasting and schedule status
Validate project controls reports for quality and accuracy
Purchase Order Analysis & Reporting
Ensure source systems are set up correctly to align costs and budgets
Monitor contractor cost and schedule performance
Identify and escalate variances or risks to the Project Manager
✅ What You Bring
5–8 years of experience in Project Controls, Project Management, or OPG‑related environments
Strong understanding of cost and schedule management
Advanced Excel skills (asset)
Primavera P6 certification (asset, not required)
ECOSYS experience (asset, not required)
Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and collaborative approach
