Head of IT Operations – Hybrid (Canada)
Salary: $140,000–$150,000 CAD + Benefits + PTO
Location: Hybrid – Canada (office & remote)
Are you a hands-on IT leader ready to run day-to-day operations while driving technical excellence? We’re seeking a Head of IT Operations to lead a small team of infrastructure specialists, manage datacenter and on-prem infrastructure, and ensure reliable, secure, and high-performing systems across the organization.
What You’ll Do:
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of infrastructure engineers.
Own day-to-day operations: servers, storage, networking, virtualization, monitoring, and backups.
Troubleshoot complex technical issues and act as the escalation point for operations.
Collaborate with developers, architects, and security teams to deliver projects on time.
Improve processes, automation, and operational standards across infrastructure services.
What We’re Looking For:
7+ years in infrastructure or systems engineering (on-prem focus: servers, virtualization, storage, networking).
2+ years in technical or team leadership.
Strong expertise in Windows Server, Debian/RHEL Linux, VMWare/Hyper-V/Proxmox, storage systems, networking (Fortinet/Cisco), and scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
Experience with ITIL, change management, incident/problem resolution.
Strong communicator with proven ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate cross-functionally.
