We’re looking for a Head of IT Operations to lead day-to-day infrastructure, production operations, and reliability engineering across a growing technology organization serving the HVAC and industrial sector. This is a high-impact role where you’ll lead by example — solving technical challenges alongside your team while driving operational stability and modernization.
🚀 What You’ll Do
Lead and mentor a small team of infrastructure & SRE engineers
Own datacenter operations, virtualization, storage, networking & monitoring
Act as the primary escalation point for complex production issues
Drive uptime, SLA performance & operational excellence
Improve automation, processes & governance (ITIL, change control)
Collaborate with architects, developers, security & business teams
Participate in on-call & incident response rotation
This role balances technical depth + leadership — ideal for someone who can roll up their sleeves and also guide strategy.

Virtualization: VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox
Systems: RHEL, Debian, Windows Server
Networking: Fortinet (primary), Cisco
Storage: Dell EMC, NetApp
Cloud: Azure & AWS (hybrid exposure)
IaC & Automation: Terraform, Ansible, Python, PowerShell
Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch
Backup: Veeam
Strong on-prem infrastructure depth is essential.
✅ What We’re Looking For
7+ years in infrastructure operations / systems engineering
2+ years in technical or team leadership
Strong troubleshooting across networking, virtualization & Linux
Experience in SRE / production operations environments
Confident communicator who can align technical decisions with business goals
Comfortable working in fast-paced, project-heavy environments
Must be able to travel within Canada & the U.S. and hold a valid passport.
💰 Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: CAD $135,000 – $170,000
