Hiring for 🚀 Scrum Master Opportunity | Public Sector Digital Transformation
Are you a Scrum Master who thrives in complex environments and enjoys helping teams deliver meaningful digital services?
A provincial public-sector organization is seeking an experienced Scrum Master to support large-scale digital transformation and service modernization initiatives. This is a 12-month contract, working primarily remote, with occasional onsite collaboration in Edmonton.
You’ll work alongside cross-functional product teams focused on improving how citizens experience government services – using agile delivery, human-centred design, and modern digital practices.
🛠️ What You’ll Be Doing
Lead and facilitate agile ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, demos, retrospectives)
Coach teams and Product Owners on agile best practices
Remove blockers and enable consistent sprint delivery
Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, and release planning
Track and report delivery metrics (velocity, burndown, backlogs)
Collaborate with UX, service design, and research teams
Support multiple digital initiatives simultaneously (2–3 projects)
✅ Mandatory Qualifications
Active Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification
5+ years working in agile development environments
4+ years facilitating Scrum ceremonies
2+ years coaching agile teams
Eligible for government security clearances
Comfortable working remotely with occasional onsite requirements
⭐ Nice to Have
Public sector or enterprise digital delivery experience
JIRA and/or Azure DevOps
Experience with UX, service design, or human-centred design
Training or facilitation experience using Microsoft Teams
