Job Description
A client in BC is undergoing a significant multi-site network standardization and rebranding initiative across 70 locations. They are seeking a Network Deployment Specialist to provide crucial technical execution support to their internal IT team. This role will focus on the logical configuration and onboarding of sites while collaborating with the primary partner for physical onsite field services.
Key responsibilities include:
– Supporting device onboarding and configuration
– Ensuring consistent application of standard templates and policies
– Acting as a quality-control layer alongside onsite field services
– Maintaining logical integrity, configuration, and standardization of the network
This position is distinct from a field technician role and is highly technical and detail-oriented. While field services manage physical installations, the Network Deployment Specialist will ensure all sites are unified under the new infrastructure standard.
Required qualifications and skills include:
– Proven experience configuring and deploying Sophos firewalls, Aruba switches/APs, and Unifi or Meraki hardware
– Experience managing network refreshes in complex, multi-site environments, including small offices and large industrial/warehouse settings
– Background in M&A “cleanup,” specifically transitioning diverse, legacy “as-is” environments into a unified corporate standard
– Ability to work within an urgent, fast-moving project timeline and adapt to a phased rollout approach
– Strong focus on risk reduction during critical “cutover” phases of network migration
This is an urgent requirement aligned with Phase 1 kickoff and is likely part-time to start, with potential to scale as more sites come online. This is largely remote work but candidates based in BC are preferred.
Interested candidates should send an email to rose.manzon@cdw.ca.
