Contract Opportunity

Our client is seeking two experienced DataOps/Cloud Data Engineers to join our client’s team in Toronto. These roles will focus on building, optimizing, and supporting modern data platforms, pipelines, and cloud-based solutions in a fast-paced, agile environment.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and workflows.
Develop and optimize data models, transformations, and storage solutions (parquet, delta, iceberg).
Implement data quality checks and monitoring frameworks (Great Expectations, Soda, Python, SQL).
Support enterprise data warehouse, data lake, and data Lakehouse initiatives.
Manage cloud data services (DaaS, DBaaS, DWaaS, storage, repositories, key vaults, VMs).
Collaborate in an agile, sprint-based development environment with code reviews, version control (git), and CI/CD automation.
Technical Skills & Experience
Proficiency in Python & SQL, with strong coding practices.
Hands-on experience with Databricks and Spark SQL for data modeling and transformations.
Proven track record in pipeline orchestration, automation, and deployment.
Experience with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data ingestion.
Expertise in data quality, performance tuning, and monitoring.
Cloud knowledge across commercial and open-source platforms for data management and exchange.
Familiarity with Agile product development cycles and CI/CD pipelines.
Must-Haves
Strong Python and SQL skills, with Databricks/Spark SQL experience.
Expertise in pipeline development and automation.
Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms and services.
Knowledge of data storage and management (DaaS, DBaaS, DWaaS).
Agile development experience with Git-based collaboration and code reviews.
Proficiency in CI/CD and data provisioning automation.
