Position: Enterprise Architect (Remote Access Technical Architect)
Location: Hybrid, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada (onsite meetings required)

About the Role
We are seeking an Enterprise Architect with strong expertise in Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) to support the client’s Remote Access Services. This role will focus on service development, infrastructure oversight, monitoring, and ensuring efficient, secure, and cost-effective operations. The ideal candidate is a collaborative professional who thrives in hybrid environments, balancing onsite engagements with remote work.

Key Responsibilities
Support the Service Manager/Owner in day-to-day operational duties, ensuring services operate at peak efficiency.
Research industry trends and emerging AVD capabilities.
Develop and maintain documentation (audit, SOPs, change management, knowledge base, SharePoint content).
Evaluate risks, implement controls, and ensure compliance with SOS and STRA requirements.
Provide technical support and analysis across projects to deliver high-quality solutions.
Contribute to team development through cross-training, formal training, and mentorship.
Service Development
Partner with the Service Manager/Owner on architectural design and the Service Roadmap.
Collaborate with third-party service providers on continuous service improvements (CSI).
Maintain infrastructure, certificates, and recommend upgrades.
Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and enhancement.
Evaluate application utilization, licensing, and performance.
Create recommendations for cost-effective service delivery for external agencies, boards, and commissions.

Monitoring & Reporting
Assist providers with monitoring tools, service performance reporting, troubleshooting, and capacity planning.
Cloud & On-Prem Infrastructure Oversight
Work with vendors to support and administer the AVD environment.
Review and document cloud and on-prem configurations; maintain accurate records annually.
Evaluate and strengthen security posture, review vulnerability reports, and support mitigation efforts.

Must-Have Qualifications
Education: Post-secondary education in IT or equivalent experience.
Work Experience:
3+ years developing on cloud platforms and utilizing cloud services.
5+ years defining technical architecture and building technical environments.
5+ years gathering requirements from diverse stakeholders.
3+ years across multiple architecture domains (business, application, technology).
5+ years in process improvement, documentation, and requirement gathering.
3+ years of troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
5+ years of professional communication (written and verbal).
