Financial Controller

We’re assisting our non-profit client in the search for a Corporate Controller to join their team. This is a senior leadership role responsible for full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and team development. This is a permanent role, and is fully onsite in Ottawa.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily operations of AR, AP, general accounting, and month-end close
Lead the controllership accounting team, fostering performance and development
Prepare and review monthly financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow)
Conduct variance analysis against budgets and prior periods
Lead treasury operations, manage credit card programs, and support audit activities
Compile consolidated financial results from affiliated entities
Lead the annual external audit and coordinate related financial reporting requirements
Collaborate with Finance, HR, IT, and Payroll to improve processes and internal controls
Liaise with external partners (banks, auditors, vendors, clients)
Contribute to strategic initiatives, special projects, and operational improvements
Requirements:

CPA, ACCA, or CA
Eligible for Secret Security Clearance
5+ years in full-cycle accounting; 2+ years leading a team of 4 or more
3+ years as a Controller in a $50M+ organization
Proficient in MS Dynamics GP and Excel; familiarity with QuickBooks an asset
Strong understanding of ASPE
Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
