Your new role

You will be responsible for aiding with operational financial and tax activities for corporate and development entities, including, but not limited to, general maintenance of accounting records and assistance in the preparation of individual and combined financial statements in accordance with ASPE. The Junior Accountant will report directly to the Corporate Controller but will also support the Development Controller and Director of Tax as duties arise.

Assist in the preparation of year-end working papers and financial statements for annual review, both at an individual entity and combined company level.
Full cycle accounting and reconciliations across multiple legal corporate and development entities.
Provide support to the Director of Tax for compliance reporting.
Liaise with auditors and tax advisors.
Collaborate with the AP, treasury, construction, and property management groups to ensure the integrity and consistency of accounting records.
Preparation and review of monthly GST remittances and reconciliations.
Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by management.

What you’ll need to succeed

2 years of experience in full cycle accounting
Completed bachelor’s degree or diploma in accounting
Experience using Yardi Voyager (strongly preferred)
Real estate industry Experience (strongly preferred)
