Role:- CAN_Database Administrator – MS SQL DBA
Location- Montreal, QC.(Fully Onsite)
Job Type:- Contract

Day to Day Operations:
1] HIGH Priority PROD Ticket Support / Database Outage Handling
2] Weekend Support
3] Change Management
4] Bug Fixes with Microsoft
5] Consultation to Users / other support team / L2 Team
6] Handling Projects ( like DB migration , Host level upgrades / migrations )
7] Script changes8] Other Technology Support ( like Delphix / HVR / RTDS )
9] L2 Runbook review
10] Medium / Low PROD/Non-PROD Escalation Handling from L1/L2 team
11] Escalation Reduction / Problem Management
12] Provides Training to L2/L1 team

Skills Required :
1. Ability to perform day to day database administration tasks with deep understanding of SQL Server internals e.g. Indexing, partitioning , filestream , Always-On , replication cctv and Mirroring technologies.
2. Troubleshoot and provide advice on SQL Server performance issues and be able to work with application development teams and provide recommendations.
3. Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools
4. Knowledge of relational databases, T-SQL, query execution plans, solving concurrency issues and deadlocks
5. Knowledge of administrating azure SQL databases is an added advantage.
6. Good communication skill and experience to handle P1/P2 outages.
7. MSSQL DBA Certification will be added advantage8. Good in Powershell.
