Job Description
About the job
About Xanadu:
Xanadu’s mission is to build quantum computers that are useful and available to people everywhere.
At Xanadu, we are learners, innovators, researchers, collaborators and problem solvers. We are creating something that has never been built before. Few people in their life will be able to be a part of something like this, where if we are successful, the technologies we develop will solve some of the world’s most challenging problems, and literally change the world. And that is something to be excited about!
Your role and responsibilities:
As a Technical Recruiter, you will be a key player in the recruiting process at Xanadu, owning end-to-end recruitment activities for multiple teams. You will build and maintain good relationships with both candidates and Xanadu hiring managers, ensuring an outstanding candidate experience. You will manage a high volume of candidate pipeline activity and maintain confidentiality within our hiring process.
Strategic Hardware Sourcing: Proactively hunt for technical talent across Quantum Computing, Semiconductors, Photonics, Embedded Systems, and Hardware Engineering.
Full-Cycle Management: Own the process from the initial intake meeting with Engineering Managers to the final “handshake” and offer negotiation.
Technical Partnership: Collaborate with hiring managers to translate complex technical roadmaps into compelling job descriptions and search strategies.
Candidate Advocacy: Ensure a high-touch, world-class experience. You’ll guide candidates through a process that often involves technical deep-dives and hardware design reviews.
Market Intelligence: Act as a consultant to the leadership team, providing insights on the semiconductor and hardware talent market, including salary trends and competitor mapping.
Process Optimization: Use JazzHR to manage the pipeline effectively, ensuring data integrity and providing regular reporting on time-to-hire and pipeline health for critical hardware roles.
Diversity & Outreach: Lead initiatives to attract a diverse range of engineering talent from both industry and top-tier technical universities.
Required qualifications and experience:
Post-secondary degree in Human Resources or a related field
4+ years of experience in technical recruitment, specifically within hardware, semiconductors, robotics, or deep-tech environments.
Knowledge of the Hardware Stack: You don’t need to be an engineer, but you should understand the general lifecycle of a physical product (e.g., Design, Verification, Prototyping, and Production).
Experience in a start-up or growth stage environment and ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
Expert Sourcing Skills: Proficiency with tools beyond the standard LinkedIn Recruiter—familiarity with GitHub, specialized engineering forums, and talent mapping.
Negotiation & Closing: Strong experience closing complex offers, including relocation, sign-on bonuses, and equity packages.
Operational Excellence: Exceptional organizational skills and a “self-starter” mindset. You take ownership of your desk and your data.
This is for a new position. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and internal benchmarks. The base salary range is 80,000 – 120,000 CAD. You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
