Job Opportunity: Systems Analyst (Hybrid | Contract) – Whitby, Ontario, Canada
We’re looking for an experienced Systems Analyst to join our team on a contract basis
This is a hybrid role based in Whitby, ON, and requires Canadian citizenship due to high-security requirements.
About the Role:
As a Systems Analyst, you’ll provide technical expertise, administration, monitoring, implementation, and emergency support for the client, including integrated 911 solutions like CAD, radio, phone, GIS, and paging systems.
You’ll also act as a subject matter expert for various technology projects, including Radio, Telecom, Satellite Systems, and Digital Voice Recording/Retrieval, while supporting 911 dispatch emergency COOP activation plans.
Note: Travel within Ontario is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide senior technical expertise and coordination for I&IT solutions.
Support and maintain desktops, server environments, and emergency 911 systems.
Deliver 24/7 on-site and remote technical support for ambulance dispatching equipment.
Provide project leadership and technical advice for multiple concurrent initiatives.
Collaborate with emergency health services and related agencies (police, fire) to maintain interoperability.
What You’ll Need:
Diploma/Degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent combination of education & experience.
Strong experience with:
Integrated voice/data systems, radio-trunking systems, and P25 standards.
Desktop, server, and network configurations.
Government I&IT frameworks (e.g., ITIL, change management practices).
Emergency services communications operations (an asset).
Technical troubleshooting skills, including the use of RF and network diagnostic tools.
Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems (radio installations/troubleshooting).
Familiarity with relevant legislation (e.g., Ambulance Act, PHIPA).
