Sr Trading Platforms SME – IBOR / MUREX
This is with a global IT services firm for a leading investment/wealth management services firm.
Client Location is downtown Toronto Ontario, close to TTC and GO service.
Hybrid – In Office 3 days per week.
Contract – 6 months, possible renewal
Project Description:
Work with one of the world’s leading Murex practices. We are a top-tier Murex Alliance Partner and a market leader in implementation, integration, upgrade and migration. We provide end-to end project services and have delivered over 200 successful Murex projects across all major asset-classes and sectors including investment banking, asset management, corporate treasury and insurance. Whether you possess a background in finance, technology or Mathematics, your experience in the capital markets industry would be of high interest to us.
Project will be with one of the most respected and fastest growing institutional investors in the world; based in downtown Toronto
Role required a combination of strong capital markets business and process knowledge, business analysis and project skillsets.
Responsibilities:
– Assist in building the roadmap to define IBOR in the firm
– Work with stakeholders from Technology, FO and BO teams to gather inputs and requirements for IBOR initiative
– Create documentation for project plan and other related artifacts
– Data modelling / mockups as required for the initiative
– Liaise with respective internal team(s) to resolve issues and necessary enhancements
– Develop requirements per given stream and according with resolution needs as they come along
– Contribute to support group(s) efforts in resolving request or issues
– Analyze, formulate, proposed, develop and/or contribute to overall solutions as per project deliverables
– Continuous follow-up of new Application developments, enhancements, version upgrade release, regulations/practices globally, and other such items
Mandatory Skills:
• Undergraduate degree in a technical field (i.e. Finance, IT, Mathematics)
• Professional designations – CFA, FRM, PRM would be an asset
• 10+ Years of Investment Industry experience, preferably with various Derivative Instruments
• 10+ Years of experience working with IBOR systems like Murex, Calypso, Charles River etc.
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst in Financial Services, preferably Pension Funds
• Proficiency with SQL, spreadsheets, database applications and some type of general-purpose programming language (Python)
• BI Tool experience (specifically with Qlikview/QlikSense, Power BI). Experience in report design, report implementation, and underlying data modeling
Nice-to-Have Skills Description:
• Experience in configuring and maintaining production systems (P&L systems preferred)
• Trading Platform Config experience
• Practical product knowledge, with a solid understanding of theoretical fundamentals, especially those related to derivative valuations and structures
• Diligent with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to think conceptually, creatively, always looking for new ways of doing work. Lead initiatives to develop and implement improvements.
• Able to work independently with minimal direction as well as part of a team
• Works well under pressure handles concurrent tasks, and meets prescribed deadlines
• Keen eye for detail and accuracy
