Sr. Quality Assurance Specialist

Job Description

Location: Hybrid (Winnipeg, MB)
⏳ Contract Term: Approximately 6 months, with potential extensions

Role Overview:
As a Senior QA Specialist, you’ll be responsible for leading quality assurance activities on various development and maintenance projects. You’ll work closely with business users, system analysts, and the software development team to validate systems, map requirements to application functionalities, and ensure testing strategies are robust. This includes test planning, execution, defect documentation, and validation. You will also mentor other QA specialists when needed.

Minimum Required Experience:
✓ 7+ years in software quality assurance.
✓ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Business Admin, or equivalent experience.
✓ Broad IT domain knowledge in 3+ IT areas such as Application Development, Quality Assurance, Project Management, etc.
✓ Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) in English.

Required Skills:
⭐Strong aptitude for learning applications and systems.
⭐Knowledge of different testing methodologies and processes.
⭐Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
⭐Experience in Software Quality Assurance principles and procedures.
⭐Analytical problem-solving skills.
⭐Basic knowledge of SQL.
⭐Willingness to work after hours or weekends when necessary.

Preferred Skills:
🤹 Experience in the insurance industry.
🤹 Familiarity with team collaboration tools (i.e., Confluence, Jira).
🤹 Experience using test management tools (i.e., TestRail).
🤹 Familiarity with automation testing tools (i.e., SmartBear Testing Suite, Postman).
🤹 Knowledge of cross-browser testing tools (i.e., BrowserStack, SmartBear).
