Job Title: Senior Java Developer (6-Month Contract) exAmazon only!
Location: Remote (Canada or US, EST Hours)
Duration: 6 months, with potential for extension

We are looking for Senior Java Developer for an exciting 6-month contract opportunity!
This is a fully remote position, with candidates welcome from anywhere in Canada or the United States. The role requires working in EST hours. As a Senior Java Developer, you will work alongside our project teams to guide the entire development lifecycle. You will be responsible for ensuring high-quality code, working on cloud technologies like AWS, and contributing to the ongoing deployment and support of live applications. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys collaborating with clients, teammates, and other stakeholders to deliver outstanding software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
Proactively collaborate with the project team to guide the product development through the entire lifecycle.
Ensure code quality, governance, and adherence to patterns/designs agreed upon with project leads.
Contribute to planning, estimation, architecture, coding, and development efforts.
Refactor codebases for continuous improvements and scalability.
Communicate technical decisions and information effectively with the global team.
Take responsibility for releases and contribute to the ongoing support of live applications.
Engage in DevOps activities related to deployment and operation of software.
Maintain professionalism and focus on delivering excellent customer outcomes.

Basic Qualifications:
6+ years of strong Java development experience.
4+ years of experience working in the AWS cloud environment.
Extensive experience with J2EE and JSP.
Deep understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD), design principles, patterns, and best practices.
Proven experience working directly with clients and stakeholders to define and refine project requirements.
Experience using and configuring CI/CD pipelines.
Experience building scalable software services (e.g., serverless, microservices).
Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Must have worked for Amazon before.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript.
Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD).
