Are you a hands-on SOX professional looking for a long-term contract opportunity with challenging work and a competitive compensation package?

Our client is seeking an experienced SOX Compliance Consultant to support their internal controls and compliance program. This is a hybrid opportunity based in Downtown Toronto.

💼 Responsibilities:
• Review and assess SOX documentation, process narratives, risk and control matrices, and test scripts
• Execute testing of design and operating effectiveness for key controls
• Identify control deficiencies and support remediation activities
• Prepare clear, accurate, and audit-ready documentation
• Partner with finance, internal audit, and business stakeholders
• Assist with control enhancements and process improvement initiatives
• Provide status updates and reporting on testing progress and remediation efforts
• Support compliance activities through year-end reporting cycles

✅ Qualifications:
• Strong hands-on SOX compliance and internal controls experience
• Proven experience executing SOX testing independently
• Experience with control documentation, walkthroughs, remediation, and audit support
• Exceptional attention to detail and documentation quality
• Ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlines
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience with Workiva and Visio is highly preferred
• Experience in mining, metals, manufacturing, or other complex public company environments is considered an asset
• CPA, CIA, CISA, or related designation is an advantage
