About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Front End Software Developer (Senior) to join a dynamic team supporting the Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement.
This role involves developing, customizing, and extending GIS-based web mapping applications using JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and ESRI/VertiGIS SDKs.
Must Have Skills
✅ Experience customizing mapping applications using GIS SDKs (VertiGIS Studio Web SDK, Geocortex Viewer for HTML5 SDK, or ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript)
✅ Strong front-end development skills using React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
✅ Hands-on experience developing and maintaining web mapping applications
✅ Experience with ESRI-based platforms (VertiGIS Studio, Geocortex Essentials, ESRI Experience Builder, Web AppBuilder)
✅ Understanding of AODA / WCAG 2.0 Level AA accessibility standards
Responsibilities
Design and develop attractive, effective, and responsive user interfaces
Translate technical specifications into functional, tested applications
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in software development and deployment
Collaborate across teams through all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Nice to Have
Experience with Ontario Public Service (OPS) or broader public sector projects
Familiarity with ArcGIS REST API, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Portal
Knowledge of information management principles, rapid application development (RAD) methodologies, and accessibility compliance
Contract Details
📅 Duration: ~6 months (120 business days, with possible 73-day extension)
💼 Work Model: Hybrid (3 days onsite mandatory)
