MaxSys Staffing & Consulting is hiring a Senior Software Developer to support a large-scale public sector modernization project focused on data transformation and cloud migration.

About the Role:

This role sits at the heart of a critical digital transformation initiative. You’ll work alongside a collaborative team to migrate high-sensitivity data from Oracle to Azure SQL Server, implement secure and efficient ETL pipelines, and support the modernization of legacy applications.

You’ll help shape the data foundation for a suite of digital services, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and aligned with evolving public sector needs.

Key Contract Details:

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – minimum 3 days onsite)

Contract Duration: June 2, 2025 – September 30, 2025

Application Deadline: April 28, 2025 at 10AM

Key Responsibilities:

Lead data migration efforts from Oracle to Azure SQLDesign and implement scalable ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory and related toolsConduct data mapping, transformation, cleansing, validation, and testingTune Azure SQL databases for performance, availability, and cost optimizationContribute to CI/CD pipelines and support data workflows in cloud environmentsDocument all technical artifacts and ensure seamless knowledge transfer

Must-Have Experience:

5+ years with RDBMS, Azure SQL, database security, performance tuning5+ years building ETL processes, including ADF, SSMA, and data pipeline orchestrationProficiency in scripting: T-SQL, PL/SQL, PowerShell, Azure CLIExperience with data modeling and database designFamiliarity with DevOps and CI/CD practices related to data engineering

Nice to Have:

Azure certifications (e.g. Azure Data Engineer Associate)Experience with Oracle database administrationFamiliarity with data governance, quality, and compliance in public sector settingsHands-on with modeling tools like PowerDesigner or ERWIN
