Our client, within Technology and Innovation, is seeking three (3) Senior Application Developers to support critical application systems on a contract basis. This role is ideal for experienced developers with strong Oracle expertise, who can balance application development, maintenance, and support while collaborating closely with technical teams and business subject matter experts.

Scope of Work
The Senior Application Developer will:
Gather requirements, design, build, and program application projects and enhancements.
Work with development and maintenance teams on large, complex enterprise systems.
Partner with business SMEs for application testing, remediation, and validation.
Ensure all deliverables align with ministry and Government of Alberta standards.

Key Responsibilities
Maintain and support multiple ministry applications, including:
TRA Application System
Corporate & Commodity Audit System
Dispute Resolution, Analysis & Tracking System
Compliance Inventory Management System
Corporate/Commodity Tax System
TBF Incident Management System
Follow all architectural and security policies and standards.
Conduct full-cycle testing (unit, system, performance).
Troubleshoot application issues across environments.
Create/update technical and support documentation.
Manage and maintain development and test environments.
Develop and deliver application code, web apps, assemblies, database objects, and installation packages.
Apply source control standards and track/report defects.
Provide daily application support through shared inbox monitoring.

Must-Have Qualifications
Education: Meets or exceeds ministry standards.
Security: Eligibility for Enhanced Security Clearance (includes criminal record check).
Work Experience (5+ years each):
Designing, building, testing, deploying, and supporting enterprise applications.
Oracle Database 10g/11g/12c/19c (or higher).
Oracle Forms 11g/12c development (or higher).
Oracle Reports 10g/11g development (or higher).
Oracle PL/SQL development.
Windows, Linux, Unix, Solaris environments.
Applying software development best practices.

Have Skills
Experience documenting user requirements, business processes, and workflows.
Experience with AutoSys Workload Automation (job creation/scheduling).
Development or support of corporate taxation and financial systems.
8+ years of Oracle Database development.
8+ years Oracle PL/SQL, Forms, and Reports (10g/11g/12c or higher).
Experience with large, heavily integrated financial applications.
Advanced Linux/Unix expertise.

Security Requirements
Standard criminal record check before onboarding.
Enhanced Security Clearance (facilitated by Noramtec).
